OnMyOwn is about anything that has to deal with automotive passion. I’ve been passionate about anything with an engine and wheels for the entirety of my life. It’s the one thing that has always been there for me no matter what. It’s kept me going in some of my darkest times. It’s brought me some of the best friends I could ever ask for. I will be forever grateful for these silly machines that were only ever meant to be a mode of transportation.
OnMyOwn is something that I created solely to bring people together. It started in November 2019 with myself and just a couple of friends and I did it simply to give my friends something to be able to enjoy. At the time everyone wanted to be in some sort of car club, but without some internet clout, you weren’t worthy to be a part of it. So I decided to start my own, but it was for anyone who was interested in being a part of it. A couple of friends with banners on their cars parking together at meets and open to anyone with anything. It wasn’t a specific style. It was heavily based on stance cars, but open to anything.
Over the years, a lot has changed. It’s no longer a club. People have come and gone, but at the end of the day, the intentions have stayed the same. OnMyOwn is a place where anyone, regardless of automotive styling, is welcome. It’s for the people who are passionate about the automotive hobby. It’s not for people who want to just get a couple of likes and some attention because of a sticker on their windshield. All I want is to share with the world any sort of automotive style and let people appreciate it, on top of being an open place for anyone who’s looking for a place to be comfortable and talk to like minded people.
Shop OnMyOwn: The shop is a slight spinoff, and it takes priority of most of the posts on the Instagram page. The goal with sharing the happenings at the shop? To show just how realistic the thought of any modification desire is. We’re a couple of guys working in a garage with harbor freight tools and a guy that knows how to weld. Not a big name shop, we can’t afford to send our cars to people who will make them perfect. What we can do though? We can save some money, buy some parts and spend time working on things ourselves and bringing thoughts to life. We do it together, with tools and skills anyone can get ahold of. Are our cars perfect? Absolutely not. But they are an extension of us and something we’ve done on our own out of passion for the hobby and you can’t take that away.
This is for the people who love cars for more than just making a post and getting some likes. This is for the people who have helped me and continue to do so. This is for the love of modifying automobiles. This is for my friends to look back on in years and remember the good times we’ve had. This is something I’ve done OnMyOwn for the people around me to enjoy.
